AAT Results by Community Type (2013/14 - 2022/23)

Standardized tests are used to monitor student academic achievement and to provide data for informing policy decisions. Until academic year 2022/2023, NWT students wrote Alberta Achievement Tests (AATs). The tables found in the link below indicate the percentage of NWT grade 6 and grade 9 students scoring Acceptable levels on the English Language Arts and Math AATs between 2014/2015 to 2022/2023.

As NWT schools transition from the Alberta to the British Columbia (BC) curriculum, NWT students will write BC Foundation Skills Assessments (FSAs) in grades 4 and 7, and Graduation Assessments (GAs) in high school. Summary BC assessment results for NWT students are expected to be available following the 2026/27 academic year.
