Le recensement est un dénombrement de la population des provinces et des territoires. Il fournit des renseignements statistiques sur des sujets comme le logement, les langues, l’origine ethnique, l’éducation, la population active et le revenu.

Enumeration
In the Northwest Territories (also the Yukon and the northern portions of some provinces), some places were enumerated during March 1996. Counts were completed at an earlier date in these places to help improve census coverage.
