Enterprise is located at the junction of the NWT Highways 1 and 2, 43 km south of Hay River.

Enterprise is the first NWT community on the Mackenzie Highway above the Alberta border. Service stations were built to capture highway trade and highway-based services, including food and lodging and long-haul trucking services.
